Any ballistics experts?

Please can you have a look at the picture and given me any ideas as to possible origin etc..

I acquired it with a trio recently, along with service records. According to the record he suffered a gunshot wound to the right buttock!

It just maybe that this is the bullet they dug out from him.

Here`s a British 303 for comparison. I assume this is a spent bullet. I found it at Loos. Yours looks equally undistorted. Might it have shown signs of distortion if it had hit someone? Phil B

Possibly not. If a "spent bullet" i.e. near the end of it's velocity there may be no distortion if it hit soft tissue. If it hits bone - that's another story - for the bullet and the recipient.
