Hi,

This old photograph has been in the family for decades and I would appreciate if anyone could help identify the regiment and maybe date it.

Thank you,

Steve.

The young soldier sat at the front on the right as you view the photograph has a 'pioneer' arm badge. Judging by the general age, appearance, variety of belts etc. I think this may well be a 'Pioneer Battalion' possibly Norfolks and if the men have gas masks in those haversacks then after 1915, maybe?

Are there a couple of other badges on view? Man standing on far right with same badge as man almost in rear, left front of man gazing up.

Sgt. on left of officer.

Cpl. front centre, decorated?

The seated Sergeant behind the (our) right hand cross legged soldier (without the dog) is a member of the Army Ordnance Corps.
The chap wearing the 1914 Pattern Equipment belt, in the third row on our far right, may be a member of the Cambridgeshire Regiment.

The Corporal seated front centre has the QSA,KSA ribbons showing, as also does the WO to the officer's immediate right and the soldier middle row-standing and 2nd in from the left as you look at the photo. The officer appears to have the QSA ribbon showing.
