graybenham Posted 27 October , 2014 Share Posted 27 October , 2014 Hi, have received a picture of the the above taken at Faversham in 1913. Could anyone explain why they were there or any information pertaining?
David Porter Posted 27 October , 2014 Share Posted 27 October , 2014 More likely to be 1915. There is no reason for them to be there in 1913 as they were TF. They were only required to undertake 2 weeks training that year in an artillery environment.
graybenham Posted 27 October , 2014 Author Share Posted 27 October , 2014 THe photo definitely states 1913. However it has a '-' after the date and the writing is non-centred like it has been trimmed.
daggers Posted 27 October , 2014 Share Posted 27 October , 2014 Hello I have some information on 13th Battery of the 3rd West Lancs Brigade RFA (TF) which was certainly at or very near Faversham before crossing to France in 1915 as David says. One of its members married a local girl while they were there! The Brigade was training with the 2nd Canadian Division and did not rejoin the 55th West Lancs Division until the latter reformed in 1916. When you have made another post or two you should be able to send me a PM (personal message) and I will do what I can to answer questions from the material I have. You probably know the HQ of 3rd WL Bde was in Liverpool. 13th Battery were from Garston. Daggers
