Anybody got a map showing where the front line crossed the Villers-Bretonneux to St. Quentin road (D 1029) on 9th Aug 1918 ?

Tom,

PM for a full size JPG. This one from the AWM unit war diaries shows the Battle of Amiens barrage lines crossing the road you are interested in. One would hope that the start of the barrage would constitute the line you are looking for! British trenches in red, German blue.

This German trenchmap from 22nd July 1918 shows a simplified German front line which my be easier to 'read' than some of the British maps for the area...

Thanks for those - think I'm going to have to start digging in the diaries as I was expecting the Australians to be quite a bit east of there on the 9th - a theory collapses if they weren't :w00t:
