Hi Nick

Thank you for responding. I am researching a man in the 1st Bn. Royal Irish Fusiliers who got shot and was taken prisoner at St Quentin on 21 March 1918 and survived. It would be great to know what was recorded in the war diaries a day on either side of 21 March if this was possible.

I am looking some information from the Diary for 16th Feb 1917 - is there a diary covering this period?

You can find all of the war diaries on line at the National Archives for a small fee. Burrowes history of the 1st Bn is essentially a transcribed war diary, rephrased & with some additional detail added. On that date the 1st Bn was 'relieved by the 1st Bn Rifle Brigade' and moved into reserve at 'Asquith Flats south of Le Forest, where they were employed on carrying parties for the Royal Engineers and other work.'
