....if he can not drive how does he get his SMLE and bayonet there!

Sometimes I have wondered how collectors get newly-acquired weaponry home. No problem if one has a car, but on some days Old Spitalfields Market in London offers old rifles, bayonets and swords and most customers arrive by public transport. Can't think where the nearest car-park is, but even so flourishing a weapon, however old, in public even for a short time could cause alarm in the present climate.

So, apart from apparently being 'very odd'....I am a member of an association and am authorised to carry weaponry, munitions etc legally to and from events....Regards, Ian

I also hold 3rd party public liability insurance and don't usually make a habit of 'flourishing' anything in public. In the last 3 years, the majority of it spent passing through Central London whilst going to/from events, I have only been stopped twice by Police Officers and that was purely out of interest in what I was doing...incidentally, all weaponry, munitions that I carry is either deactivated and/ or inert.
