gordon92 Posted 10 September , 2014 Share Posted 10 September , 2014 I just found the below pictured gem in the breast pocket of an officer's service dress jacket I recently acquired. The jacket is named, and the ribands definitely did not belong to the original owner of the jacket. The riband group was probably in the pocket unbeknownst to the dealer from whom I purchased the jacket, or else he likely would have sold it as a separate item. So, this impressive group was won by an unknown officer. Can anyone think of any possible way of searching the medal rolls to isolate the officers who were awarded the combination of DSO, MC, 1914-15 Star, BWM, and VM with oak leaf cluster (MIDs)? I am sure that if such a search were possible, it would probably yield dozens of names, but maybe the list would include some name with a relationship to the jacket's owner who was a Black Watch officer. Any ideas would be gratefully received.
