Paul Reed Posted 15 August , 2014 Share Posted 15 August , 2014 It's a little known classic. Glad it's widely available now.
Dust Jacket Collector Posted 15 August , 2014 Share Posted 15 August , 2014 I know there are several of us here who've paid a pretty penny for a copy of this book over the years. Still nicer to have an original though. Excellent account.

johnboy Posted 15 August , 2014 Share Posted 15 August , 2014 When I followed the link I got https://archive.org/stream/q6aandotherplaces00buckuoft/q6aandotherplaces00buckuoft_djvu.txt which has the typos but when opened in another link it is shown as a copy of each page with no mistakes! Guest Posted 15 August , 2014 Share Posted 15 August , 2014 The full text versions are done with OCR and mistakes are quite common, with the software, I think, but the PDF versions are, obviously, images of the pages. Mike

Just goes to show you can't beat the hard copy. I suppose one day there'll only be electronic copies left and then we'll just have garbled copies of garbled copies & we'll have no idea what the original text looked like. johnboy Posted 15 August , 2014 Share Posted 15 August , 2014 With the likes of Kindle etc you are probably right. Makes the originals an investment proposition?

If you download the PDF version you get a copy of the original in PDF format, fully searchable. Right click on the "PDF" option and "save link as " a document to your hard drive.
