Remembered Today:

1/6 busts if Owen and Sassoon

As a small project to Mark the centenary of the war's outbreak, I sculpted these two small portraits in sculpey. I will paint them in acrylics and oils. Each is about the same scale as a Ken doll. Not the best representation of the subjects but acceptable, they should look better painted.

Terrific. I think Sasson excellent you have cap[tured the 'feel' and look of the man well, not least the 'lugoles'. Perhaps Graves looks a little older than at the time - more creased and more colonel than subaltern

Owen. And yes he does look older and more creased than the subject? I will no try to correct that with paint. I am thinking of adding Graves to the grouping though.

Thanks

Colin

Apologies. I was wearing glasses , but my initial impression was of Graves. Is there a similarity or shall I look for a Deolali train?

Not much similarity as Graves did not have a stache :-)
