smithjayne1 Posted 9 August , 2014 Share Posted 9 August , 2014 I have been puzzling over this picture for some time. I'm pretty sure that the boy in the back row (6th from left) is my grandfather (Sydney Harold Scott Smith b. 1900). I might be wrong, but I am guessing that he was between 14 and 16 years of age, in which case the photo would have been taken during WW1. I'm assuming that the men in uniform are family members or former players on leave or possibly army recruiters. Your ideas or thoughts are most welcome. Thank you. johnboy Posted 9 August , 2014 Share Posted 9 August , 2014 I have had to reduce the size to 75% to see them. Only clue is the unclear cap badge.
centurion Posted 9 August , 2014 Share Posted 9 August , 2014 Looks very like a cemetery in the distant background
johnboy Posted 9 August , 2014 Share Posted 9 August , 2014 Not sure about the uniform of the man on the right. his 'tunic looks like it might have more than five buttons. The man in civvies has a shirt with long pointy collars? The team shirts could be any colour.
