ForeignGong Posted 9 August , 2014 Share Posted 9 August , 2014 Hi All Can anyone help identify an R.E. sub unit shown on SWB Roll as "Sec. B. A.R.". There is a definite gap between the B. & A.R. On the L.G. for a French Medaille d'Honneur avec Glaives"en Bronze" the recipients unit is listed as 38th Field Company R.E. Any help much appreciated Peter
Terry_Reeves Posted 9 August , 2014 Share Posted 9 August , 2014 Peter It means Section B, Army Reserve. He would have been a regular soldier with a reserve commitment. 38 Company was a regular unit which was at Cork when it was mobilised. TR
ForeignGong Posted 10 August , 2014 Author Share Posted 10 August , 2014 Many thanks Terry, I had a rough idea that's what it meant, but not 100% sure. Thanks again Peter
