Icox67 Posted 5 August , 2014 Share Posted 5 August , 2014 Hi, I'm trying to find out some information on a John Cramb, who joined the Black Watch, and was from Dunblane in Scotland (born 1898). As far as I know, he fought in the Battle of Jerusalem, under Allenby. Looking at the LLT, this seems to me he may have been in the 14th Bn. There's a photo of him at "Monzie Camp (near Crieff) from 1914, which may narrow it down a bit. If anyone can provide more info, or further suggestions, I'd appreciate it. Many thanks. rolt968 Posted 5 August , 2014 Share Posted 5 August , 2014 It would be useful to see the photo. 14 Black Watch was originally the Fife and Forfar Yeomanry. They became 14 BW in Egypt in December 1916, but according to the regimental history did not receive Black Watch uniforms until well into 1918. johnmelling1979 Posted 5 August , 2014 Share Posted 5 August , 2014 Monzie Camp was an annual training camp for many battalions. and would have been a damn busy place as of 1914
