However I cannot find details for him and there are numbers of similarly named men who served. Therefore I wonder if anyone can give a hint via the uniform. He was an Essex man and I presume it was the 2nd Essex as his brother died when serving with them. That is no guarantee however. Both were reservists when war broke out.
