An exceptional case; his Great War role meant that he saw more than his fair share of carnage. Served in Egypt, Gallipoli, and the Western Front. Died tragically in England. I'm afraid that I'm not expert enough to say, but after looking again, I don't think that he was awarded a Military Cross.
