bif Posted 17 July , 2014 Share Posted 17 July , 2014 Can someone clarify what 4th Resevre means on the MIC for Peebles, H W , 203023 ? I'm aware there are 1/4, 2/4, & 3/4. Is there some way to know which he served in ? Even though I now have Mr Williamson's stupendous book I still can't seem to figure out the reason for discgarge, either ? Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Langdon Posted 17 July , 2014 Share Posted 17 July , 2014 The Seaforth experts will be better placed on this but to my amateur eye I only came up with this from the LLG on the Seaforths 3/4, 3/5 and 3/6 - 8 April 1916 : renamed as Reserve Battalions at Ripon.1 September 1916 : 4th absorbed the 5th and 6th Bns. Moved to Glencorse in May 1918 where it remained as part of the Forth Garrison. I can't find any service records on Ancestry to help on the discharge in May '18.
