ddycher Posted 14 July , 2014 Share Posted 14 July , 2014 All I know he commanded 32nd Bde, 11th Div from its formation in August 1914 until he was wounded at Gallipoli on the 7th August 1915. I am particularly interested in his time as Commanding Officer Wessex Reserve Bde between 1st September 1916 and 20th February 1917 when he moved on to command the 207th Bde, 69th Div. HarryBrook Posted 14 July , 2014 Share Posted 14 July , 2014 Not much help, but he died on September 20 1933 and an obituary was published in The Times on September 30. It noted that he was severely wounded in the legs by a shell burst during the progress of the attack of 11th Div. on Chocolate Hill. It went on to say that "after many months of suffering and treatment in England was given command of a training brigade at Clipstone Camp." Presumably the Wessex Reserve Brigade, based at Clipstone Camp.
ddycher Posted 14 July , 2014 Author Share Posted 14 July , 2014 Thanks for the quick response Harry. Haggard took command of the Wessex Reserve Bde at Bournemouth. They remained there through his tenure. Wonder who he commanded at Clipstone ? Regards Dave
