Flakdodger Posted 21 July , 2014 Share Posted 21 July , 2014 Rather an ornamental background to the "airbase". First thought that this depicted the enemy aircraft exhibition at the Royal Agricultural Hall in Islington, but this event took place in November 1918, which conflicts with the April 1918 quoted in the article. Moonraker Posted 21 July , 2014 Share Posted 21 July , 2014 I wonder if the photograph relates specifically to the film clip? The caption says the King is inspecting a Fokker and its credit suggests a single "snap", whereas the article mentions a Handley Page. Certainly the photo has the look of an exhibition open to the public (fronds and policeman in the background), rather than of a military airfield. I did try to look at the actual clip, but the search facility is a little limited and threw up dozens of possible hits. Certainly there was a Fokker at the Hall in Islington: another forum (Scroll down to post 47.)
