anyone have info on this line that ran across Pilkem Ridge and near Langemarck....when was it built? was it a single track line?what gauge etc. I assume it was an important transport arrtery for the German corps. I believe it was used as divisional boundary for the 31/7/17 offensive.

Nick

It was the divisional boundary for the Guards Division and 38th (Welsh) Division of XIV Corps, Battle of Pilckem Ridge. Guards on the north side of the railway.

John
