Remembered Today:

4th (TF) Battalion, Cheshire Regiment

Doing a quick bit of research into workers from Dick Kerrs munitions factory in Preston who went to war.

I've come across the following photo which family think is Air Mechanic Class 2 Robert Castor Gregory

who served in the Loyal North Lancs and then the Royal Flying Corps. Have Medal Index Card and CWGC details, plus some family tree info off Ancestry.

I'm a bit stuck on the photo though, in terms of trying to determine if it is the person in question. The cap badge isn't LNL or anything I recognise as being RFC. I can't ID the collar badges and there appears to be rather a lot on the epaulettes!

Can anyone assist please?

I think he a Corporal is the 4th (TF) Battalion, Cheshire Regiment post WW1.

Collars and hat badge appear to be Cheshires post WW1 and shoulder titles appear to be 4 T over curved title.

Tim has it spot on. The soldier is from the Cheshire Regiment in the post WW1 cap badge. The collar badges are acorns with leaves. Shoulder title T-4-CHESHIRE.
