Wigan archives produce a great local history magazine called "Past Forward"

The link below will take you to the edition from 2000 which gave a report of the Zeppelin attack

There is a booklet

Zeppelins Over Lancashire: Story of the Air Raids on the County of Lancashire in 1916 and 1918 [Paperback]

This covers the raids on the various Lancashire Towns. It is apparently available from AMAZON

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Zeppelins-Over-Lancashire-Story-County/dp/1852160667

BUT The price, £999 new, is a bit steep! :angry2: I paid, a few years ago, about £2.50 for my copy from Bolton Library

bill

If you are quick the Amazon website posted above has two on offer. Whilst one is £81.46 plus postage it is from the USA. BUT the other is £11.50 plus postage and apparently as new and unread.

The paperback book was published in 1991 by Neil Richardson [then a prolific publisher of local history material] at £2.50. The author was Peter J.C.Smith. There are many photos and maps, and the work covers the raids on Lancashire by L21 on 25/26 Sept 1916 and L61 on 12/13 April 1918. I seldom refer to my copy and would part with it if given a sensible offer.
