Could somebody possibly help me with some more information on my

great-grandfather.

He was Serjeant CJ Hastings of the 151st Company Labour Corps.

I see that they converted by order 13.04.17 ACI:

13th Infantry Labour Coy, Northants Regt redesignated 151st Labour Coy.

His regimental number was 90005.

We know that he was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal. I have a .pdf file from the National Archives.

Thanking you in advance.

Hi Sam,

No I didn't. Outstanding work thank you. How did you manage to find it so easily?

Once again, thank you.

Best regards,

Dan

When it comes to Medal Cards, it's always best to search the National Archives first, their search engine is far better, also the NA's hold medal cards for bravery awards that Ancestry don't have.

In saying that, they charge per card, they're in black and white and normally 6 to a page, so best find what you're looking for there then get them from Ancestry, other than bravery awards that is.

His MIC also shows an India General Service Medal with clasp for Iraq issued by the RF in 1924. As he remained in the Army, his service record will still be held by the MoD and can be obtained from here.
