Thanks, Eddie. Probably safe to assume he`s a regular with a 4 figure number in a 1st Bn. Maybe the fact that the fork came home indicates that he survived.

On second thoughts, the fork coming home might also suggest that a casualty`s eating irons were taken up by someone else. It`s highly likely they were recycled.
