Michael Pegum Posted 12 June , 2014 Share Posted 12 June , 2014 This is to let you know that the Irish War Memorials website has been completely redesigned, and has improved search facilities for finding memorials, places and persons. It is possible to search the 24,000 persons by name, to see all the memorials in a particular county or town, or all the memorials to a particular conflict or regiment/corps/service. You can then see photographs of the memorials, and the inscriptions, and print off a transcription of what is written on the memorials, with information as to where the memorial is, and when it can be viewed. The majority of the memorials relate to World War I. You can view it here. There are, of course, many more yet to be recorded. Michael

Michael Pegum Posted 13 June , 2014 Author Share Posted 13 June , 2014 Thanks, Tom. There are 18,216 World War I names on the website. There are some duplications, due to men being commemorated on more than one memorial, of course. Michael
