Muerrisch Posted 5 June , 2014 Posted 5 June , 2014 Is Stand To!, journal of WFA late please? Usually May? [perhaps I am unduly sensitive, because it should have a Grumpy article in it]
Chris_Baker Posted 5 June , 2014 Posted 5 June , 2014 I was wondering that. [it has one of mine, too]. But it is Jon's 'bumper 100th' edition so perhaps things are taking a little longer than usual.
rolt968 Posted 5 June , 2014 Posted 5 June , 2014 I thought it was just because I had paid my membership late!
Muerrisch Posted 5 June , 2014 Author Posted 5 June , 2014 Perhaps the GWF has talen over the edition?
EastSurrey Posted 6 June , 2014 Posted 6 June , 2014 Still not received mine, and hoping too, that one of my pieces is in. At least it will be well worth seeing when it does arrive, unlike a number of journals sent to me! Michael
Sue Light Posted 6 June , 2014 Posted 6 June , 2014 I've written a piece on the mobilisation of nurses for them, but not sure if it's for the current edition, or for an extra they're producing in a couple of months time. Sue
Muerrisch Posted 6 June , 2014 Author Posted 6 June , 2014 potentially five articles and counting .......................... . HAD NOT HEARD OF AN EXTRA BY THE WAY.
Sue Light Posted 6 June , 2014 Posted 6 June , 2014 HAD NOT HEARD OF AN EXTRA BY THE WAY. I probably imagined it. I was asked to write something, and being very obedient I duly obliged - what it was for, I was never quite sure ... Sue
David Filsell Posted 6 June , 2014 Posted 6 June , 2014 I await some terrific reviews. But even if it's arrived I am still stuck in the island paradise that is Majorca in a hotel blessed totally with our French and German NATO allies.. Lying back and thinking of - ouch that hurt - England. Has the World Cup started yet?
Muerrisch Posted 7 June , 2014 Author Posted 7 June , 2014 Does that make six authors ........ ........ standing room only? WHICH WORLD CUP IS THIS, PRAY?
Muerrisch Posted 9 June , 2014 Author Posted 9 June , 2014 Still no issue 100. AND there is indeed an "extra" on the stocks. Mysterious!
Chris_Baker Posted 10 June , 2014 Posted 10 June , 2014 WFA posted to Facebook last night: "The special 100th edition of Stand To! - 160 pages plus covers with thirty-seven articles - is now complete and members should be receiving their copy by the end of this week. Editor Jon Cooksey hopes members will enjoy the varied and interesting coverage offered by contributors to this unique publication. In addition, members will receive their own copy of the Annual Report Supplement 2012-13."
Pighills Posted 10 June , 2014 Posted 10 June , 2014 Ooooooooooh, looking forward to getting our copy now, see what you've all written!
Stephen Nulty Posted 10 June , 2014 Posted 10 June , 2014 Ooooooooooh, looking forward to getting our copy now, see what you've all written! Calm down, Kim, it will just be Great War stuff again
IPT Posted 10 June , 2014 Posted 10 June , 2014 I will be bitterly disappointed if my article is not included in the 100th edition.. Although, in fairness to the publication, I haven't written one.
Muerrisch Posted 10 June , 2014 Author Posted 10 June , 2014 Ooooooooooh, looking forward to getting our copy now, see what you've all written! Grumpy writes under a pseudonym, if not a nom-de-guerre.
Gareth Davies Posted 10 June , 2014 Posted 10 June , 2014 Talking about yourself in the 3rd person Mr G, very grand!
Pighills Posted 10 June , 2014 Posted 10 June , 2014 Grumpy writes under a pseudonym, if not a nom-de-guerre. So what has Grumpy written about then?
David Filsell Posted 10 June , 2014 Posted 10 June , 2014 No due plume with his pan of his aunt on the desk.
Muerrisch Posted 10 June , 2014 Author Posted 10 June , 2014 One blushes for oneself. One has written about 5000 words, with the threat of another 5000 in the 101st issue.
