On reflection, I wonder if the sheet number as been transcribed correctly? This puts them near Coutrai which might not fit with July '17 - would

St JULIEN 28 NW 2) from C.22.c.63 to C.21.b.94.

make more sense?

Cheers

Almost definitely Simon.

That would put them SW of St Julien, approximately where Buffs Road crosses Admiral's Road.

The 6 Border relieved the 7th S Staffs on the 22nd July - the Staff's history describes their position:

on Sunday, the 15th, we went up to the line, assisted by a
fine fire-work display from an ammunition dump which
the Boche had objected to, and settled in about threequarters
of a mile east of the Yser Canal, in front of La
Brique, with " C " and " D " Companies in the front line
and " A " and " B " in support, " A " being in Wilson's
Farm, a nice palatial residence with a good view, two wide
front doors and a private pump.

Simon,

If you want a map PM me. I won't be able to squeeze it into the Forum limit.

La Brique is at 28.C.26.d.7.0

Wilson Farm is at 28.C.26.b.5.1
