Hi I managed to get my wifes' great uncles will today from Scotlands People. I want to know how the men who witnessed his will got on during the war. 1st signature is -- Hardie, from Fife and Fred W--- Leyland in Lancashire hope I'm right about that, sorry if I got it wrong. It would be good to see if they came through it.

Thanks,

I'd say "Fred Wrinnall (or possibly Wrennall), 11, Turpin Green, Leyland".

Second one looks like 11 Turpin Green Leyland.

Probably 12819 Fred Wrennall, Scots Guards, who did survive.

First one looks like Hardie.

I concur with IPT - It is Fred Wrennall 12819

Son of Henry and Ellen Wrennall, of Roe Moor Farm, Eccleston, Lancs; husband of Lizzie Harper Wrennall, of 11, Turpin Green, Leyland, Preston, Lancs.

Turpin Green was once a small hamlet that was subsequently swallowed up by Leyland when it boomed around the time of the war. It lives on today as 'Turpin Green Lane'.
