Case, No. 2, Prismatic Binocular.

I have a Case, No. 2, Prismatic Binocular. Makers name is C & R Brinsley 1916.

It is lacking the carrying strap which I would like to make for it.

If someone has a similar case, can they tell me the length of the strap and a photograph of the buckle/keeper arrangement.

Hi Chris,

I have a case to hand, the strap is 77½" long x ¾" wide. There are 22 adjustment holes 1" apart punched in the male end of the strap, the last of these 2¼" from the end of the strap. See the photos attached for the detail of the strap end, the buckle and the keepers. The original user has folded the male end of the strap under the sliding keeper, presumably to stop it snagging or catching and to fix the keeper in place. This should be clear from the photos. The case was made by T. French & Sons Ltd. 1916
