His service papers survive. A brief summary;

Lived at 68 Ince Avenue, Anfield.

Occupation labourer

Married Lilian Lee Hunt 14/8/1913

Daughter Lilian Janet born 9/5/1916

Joined at Knowsley 15/1/1915, aged 35, 19th KLR

To France 7/11/1915

Gunshot wound left leg 11/7/1916

Transferred to various Labour Corps Home Service from 20/7/1917

Transferred to RAMC 15/11/1917

Discharged physically unfit for service 6/3/1919

Asylum in Maghull - general paralysis of the insane

There's a death registered in Prescot in 1920 for a John T Murray, aged 40 which may be him.
