Last minute opportunity for short Ypres trip

Due to someone's work commitment, I have a free seat on a short trip I am making to Ypres and invite anyone interested to contact me no later than this time tomorrow.

I am travelling with Martin Clift, who is behind an initiative to commemorate the First Battle of Bellewaarde, 15 June next year. We are carrying out a recce and doing some planning on the battlefield. You would be welcome to stay with us while we do that, or if you prefer to use the time in Ypres in some other way, please do.

We depart at an early hour on 15 June from the Thurrock/Aveley area (near the M25 QE2 bridge over the Thames) and have two nights in Ypres. We return afternoon 17 June. You will need to fit in with this!

All you will need to pay for is your hotel and subsistence while we are there. All travel costs are already covered.

What a real shame my Great Great Great Grandfather (1st Wilts) was killed in this battle (16th June) and I would have loved to come with you,but it's just too short a notice at work i'm gutted.

Pity. But there's always another time, dannyboy. Martin is organising a proper battlefield tour for the 100th anniversary. If you use Facebook, track the Bellewaarde 1915 page down as he gives details and is taking bookings.
