Remembered Today:

RAMC

My grandfather Charles Blunt was a private in the RAMC and was renumbered as 374024 as part of the 301st Field Ambulance. According to information from the family he was a batman and served the same officer throughout his service and served overseas as he has the Victory Medal. I am however confused as under the information on the complement of a Field Ambulance unit jt shows that all the batman were ASC. So does this mean he was not a batman or is there some other explanation. His record appears to be among the burnt records. Any help appreciated.

Hi Tony

What was your G.F. number before he was re-numbered. I can not find him under 374024.

When was he born?

Where was he born?

Did he transfer into 301st Field Ambulance?

I can not find an M.I.C. YET YOU SAY HE RECIEVED THE VICTORY MEDAL.

More information would be a big help.

Cheer's

Tony.

Hi.

Not sure if it's any halp but have you tried to see if a War Diary exsists for the 301st Field Ambulance Unit. Alas lower ranks are rearly mentioned.
