OldJohnsman Posted 26 May , 2014 Share Posted 26 May , 2014 Hello Does anyone have any information about the military career of Lance Serjeant Arthur Gentle 2nd Bn of the Beds. I know he is buried in Sandy Churchyard having died of wounds 18th October 1918. He may have signed up aged 18-19 in February 1915 and served nearly the whole of the War. He was the son of John & Emily Gentle from Beeston, Beds. He is my cousin twice removed. thank you any help Pat

johnboy Posted 26 May , 2014 Share Posted 26 May , 2014 His MIC shows him as entering Theatre of War 23/2/15. He was awarded BWM, Victory Medal and 15 Star. He is shown as Corporal. 2 Beds were part of 21st Brigade 7th Division until being transferred to 30th Division 19/12/15. A look through Long Long Trail, top left of page will show battles he may have taken part in.
