As a relative newcomer I came across a reference in the forums to a list of those who transferred from the 1st Lanark Rifle Volunteer Corps to the 5th Battalion on 1st April 1908 following the creation of the Territorial Force. Could anyone tell me where I could access this list? I am using the list of men in the appendices to the battalion history to add to the IWM/Lives of the First World War memorial project and I would like to include as much information as I can find about each soldier.

I am particularly inerested in the regiment as my uncle served with them before transferring to the RAF.

The list was printed in either the last 'First Lanark Gazette' or the first '5th Scottish Rifles Gazette', I can't remember which. I entered the list into a spreadsheet and compared it to the nominal roll in the 5th Battalion's printed history - I was only able to match 37 men with any real certainty. Of the 37, 14 appear to have died in the War. There are 598 men in the list of those transferring to the 5th SR from the 1st LRV. It's been a while since I've worked on this, so it might be possible to take things a bit further forward. Feel free to drop me a PM and we can discuss it further.
