I do has some information but it is quite hard to read some of the details on the documents adhaim I think he was killed before the battle of adhaim as this was started on 16.17 april and he was already dead by then.# any information would be greatly appriciated

woollamc Posted 27 May , 2014 Posted 27 May , 2014 6th Battalion, South Lancashire Regiment (here). He joined them in Mesopotamia, arriving at Basra on 1 March 1916.

woollamc Posted 28 May , 2014 Posted 28 May , 2014 According to his service records on ancestry, he attested on 1 September 1914, was trained by 10th Battalion in the UK and then posted to 6th Battalion on 28 August 1915, joining them at Gallipoli on 17 September 1915 (this date is given on his Medal Index Card). The Battalion was evacuated from Gallipoli to Egypt via Mudros in Greece in December 1915. They then sailed from Port Said in Egypt to Basra in the Persian Gulf, where they arrived on 1 March 1916. C
