[Acting Major], Yeomanry, attached Liverpool Regt. "For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty during an enemy attack. He commanded his company with marked ability, and at a critical time sent back valuable information to battalion headquarters. He showed courage and cheerfulness under heavy fire."
