Hit a complete brick-wall with this chap. All I know is his regimental number (15388), his initials (W.J.) , his surname (Meadows) and his generic unit (Royal Field Artillery). I don't know when he enlisted, but do know that he was definitely a serving soldier or reservist at some point between 1907 and 1915. I don't believe that he served overseas with this number.

Any further information or assistance gratefully received.

Thank you.

Dave

I had found a William Joseph Meadows, 9947, RFA earlier but couldn't link him to the number 15388, which IPT has now done.

If this is the same William Joseph Meadows, he was a Serjeant in 22nd Brigade, entering France on 6 October 1914 (according his Medal Index Card). Mentioned in Dispatches, 18 May 1917.

Thanks for that... just found his records.

He'd have only been 38 in 1916, so I'd better see if he had any WW1 service now!*

Cheers again,,

Dave

*** edit*** thanks also to C... time for me to look deeper I think!
