3rd Bn Duke of Wellington’s Enlistment Date via Service Number

I have a soldier who had enlisted in the Duke of Wellingtons (West Riding Regt) with the service number 3/12488

He was a pre-war regular whos time on the reserve had expired several weeks before war was declared.

I am assuming (given the number three prefix) that he was initially posted to the 3rd(Reserve) Bn at Halifax, is this correct?

He entered France on the 29/4/15 and served with the 2nd Battalion.

Could anyone please give me a precise enlistment date for him, or at least narrow it down?
