Can some please take a look at his mic, as I can not understand it, does it say persia? There is allso a number 7040450 I can not find anything on this one thanks

Yes, he has a "NW Persia" clasp to an Indian General Service Medal. Did you know he has two medal index cards? They show the same number of the 21st Londons but are marked "not identical". Looks to me as though he re-enlisted in 1919.

Where should I be looking for his service papers under what number, I have tried both and no joy, and thanks by the way

I don't think you will find them. His 7-digit number was not issued before 1920 and he looks very much as though his record will still be with the MOD.

Sorry but is it worth going down the indian route if he got a gsm, and clasp, what would be the date he would have eon the medal ww1? Sorry all new to me thanks doug

Just done a google search nw clasp was issued 10 aug 1920 31 dec 1920 so maybe he did re join up I suppose I have no chance of the medal lol
