The Hague General Cemetery

Hi

Never come across this cemetery before and there seems to be very little on the web about it.

Would anyone, please, by any stretch of the imagination, have a headstone pic of

Private 11354 John Henry Poyner.

He was in 2nd Royal Scots and died 12 November 1918.

Any idea why he would be there ??

During WW1 several Dutch cities gave shelter to British POW's.

One of those cities was The Hague.

Hello Graeme, I have a number of headstones photos from the cemetery, but unfortunately not of Pvt Poyner.

This is a picture of a remembrance service in 1939, Poyner must buried somewhere in this plot.

Not wet at all.

Re lack of info: The Hague General Cemetery is actually called the "Algemene Begraafplaats" in Dutch of course, and this is perhaps one reason there is little about it in English on the internet.
