I am currently reading a book "Storm over Flanders" written by Winston Groom. I have never before heard of this author but I definately enjoy his style. Although I haven't finished it yet, it sure gives me the feeling that the author has done a lot of research before he started writing this book.

Has anyone else read this book and what is your opinion on it?

You probably have heard of him - without realising it. He wrote the original book of 'Forrest Gump'.....

Winston Groom is a southern boy who was. at first, a novelist. ]Better Times Than These (from Garry Owen) was one of his best. It has to do with the Viet Nam war. And, as staffsyeoman wrote, we can not forget Forrest Gump.

From a history standpoint, Shrouds of Glory, the Confederate retreat from Atlanta to Nashville is well done as is Storm Over Flanders which is a good review of the three Ypres "battles."

Hope this helps.
