Corporal Walter Puzey. Australian RFA

The Bolton newspapers of WW1 pictured a number of men from Bolton who had emigrated and were serving in the Australian and Canadian Forces, usually as casualties. This is a different case. The Bolton Journal and Guardian dated 05/05/1916 pictured the wedding of Miss Florence Lamb of Horwich (near Bolton) to Cpl W L G Puzey of the " West Australian RFA". Cpl Puzey had been a patient at Green Bank hospital and was nursed by Florence. They were married at Horwich on 29/04/1916. There was no story to accompany the picture. Marriage records show his name as Walter L J Puzey. I will gladly E mail the pic to anyone who may be related. I also intend to post the details of other Australians, New Zealanders and Canadians who are mentioned in the Bolton papers, starting in August.
