BelgianExile Posted 16 May , 2014 Share Posted 16 May , 2014 Realising that probably not many forum members read 'Defence Focus' magazine, I've scanned in an article from February's issue looking at the work that the National Army Museum is doing to commemorate unrecognised heroes. David_Underdown Posted 16 May , 2014 Share Posted 16 May , 2014 Bit of an editing error in the article I think, which seems to conflate two things. About 40% of First World Service records survive as we know, but the records in that collection were stored at Arnside Street. The Foot Guards' records were (and are) held by their respective regimental HQs, and some of those were stored in the Guards' Chapel and destroyed when it was hit by a V1.
