zijde26 Posted 10 May , 2014 Share Posted 10 May , 2014 I am looking for information and photographs (e.g. the cayennemolen ) about ' Drie Grachten '. Thanks, Gilbert
chrislock Posted 11 May , 2014 Share Posted 11 May , 2014 The best pics I have personally seen concerning Drie Grachten before and after without doubt appear in: "The Great War seen from the air" "In Flanders Fields" by Mercatorfonds. Tis expensive but brilliant. Chris
zijde26 Posted 11 May , 2014 Author Share Posted 11 May , 2014 To Chris, Indeed, excellent book with splendid photos. Even if the book is rather expensive, it's worth bying !!!! I do have the dutch language version. As far as it concerns ' Drie Grachten ' , the photo of the map (see nr 54 ) mentions the name of the mill, cavennemolen, as called by the French' I do think that the map is edited by the French army. What is your opinion ? Does anyone know other photos ? Gilbert
Aurel Sercu Posted 7 December , 2017 Share Posted 7 December , 2017 Gilbert, That's all I have (April 1915). Not a standing windmill and I'm afraid Belgian troops have already done their work .... And mind you, the windmill on maps and in German Regimental histories is spelled with a -v-, but obviously this is a misreading. Aurel
