John Milner Posted 8 May , 2014 Share Posted 8 May , 2014 I cannot find the following officer on the CWGC Debt of Honour register, if anyone can help with where he is buried/commemorated, it would be greatly appreciated. Dr. John Mitford Atkinson, M.B. LOND., M.R.C.S. Eng., L.M.S. and D.P.H. Cambridge (dob 2/12/1856, possibly). He received a commission as Major in the R.A.M.C. on July 26 1915 and was appointed to control the Richmond Military Hospital. At his age, the strain proved too much and he resigned his commission. He died on 23 May 1917. Regards John
BillyH Posted 8 May , 2014 Share Posted 8 May , 2014 John, If he resigned his commission and his subsequent death was not caused by the war then he will not be commemorated by CWGC. He does not appear on Soldiers Died Great War either. BillyH.
