Khaki Posted 5 May , 2014 Share Posted 5 May , 2014 Does anyone know if there has any effort been made in the UK to discover any unknown film footage lying forgotten in archives ? khaki
GRANVILLE Posted 5 May , 2014 Share Posted 5 May , 2014 Pathe have recently uploaded everything onto YouTube and I've found no end of material I have never seen before. David
Derek Black Posted 5 May , 2014 Share Posted 5 May , 2014 you get the impression little was filmed by the British, due to the frequency we see the same bits over and over again.

T8HANTS Posted 8 May , 2014 Share Posted 8 May , 2014 I seem to remember reading there was a great sell off of Gov't film in the 20's, interested parties took what they wanted and the rest was probably disposed of as it was all non safety film. TEW Posted 9 May , 2014 Share Posted 9 May , 2014 I made an enquiry to Pathé and was told 28/2/2014 that their entire archive is online. They have nothing hidden away or I assume being processed for release. Gaumont seem to have their own archive which includes GaumontPathé films, not sure if these are also on Pathé site. Gaumont Gaumont, Ruines et Visions de guerre Subscription or registration required I think. I wonder how many other newsreel companies there were.
