Hello

I have found FMP Newspaper Searching very helpful in researching individual service personnel. However, since FMP re-vamped the site I can't download the newspaper article images, can anyone please advise how to achieve this ? Thanks.

Regards

Ron

It's another of the many good points on FMP that hasn't been transferred to the new platform, although apparently FMP are working on this one. It is possible to use the snipping tool if you have Windows 7 to cut out small articles and save them as jpegs. It's in All Programs - Accessories - Sniping Tool.

From the website:

How do I print a newspaper article?
Answer:

We are in the process of moving our newspaper articles to a more efficient type of viewer. We have had to temporarily withdraw the print and download options while that happens.

In the meanwhile, you can work around this by vewing the article, right clicking with your mouse and saving the article to your computer then printing from there.

Hello CGM

Thanks for your advice. I tried but couldn't get the image I saved to open with programs I usually use !

I think the only way you can get around this problem is to take a screenshot of it and dump it into Paint and save as a jpeg

Have you tried pressing ctrl and P at the same time.

Cheers Roger.

There is also the BritishNewspaperArchive.co.uk website. Printable and downloadable. You need to narrow the search parameters and exclude adverts though. If you are trying to find a particular piece on a certain date, it should be easier.
