SDGW - Brown - any chance?

Hi Experts,

Could anyone help my dear sister who is researching everyone on the local village memorial? She has got virtually everyone done apart from Thomas Brown who is proving elusive (as well as having a popular name!).

He was from Wollaston, Northants.

Anything would be useful.

Cheers,

Hi Ron,

No "Thomas Brown"s with a connection to Wollaston, but there is:

William James Brown, Pte 3/9835

b-Wollaston

e-Northampton

KIA-29/1/15 with the 1st Northants

...but there are several "Thomas Brown"s with Northants connections (ie "enlisted Northampton", etc, with no "born" details or "resided" details). Could be one of these.

Also , there are a few "Thomas Brown"s in ODGW, where no locality details are given.

Another possibility is that he could be one of the 12 Thomas Browns of the Royal Navy who died (these are the ratings, I don't have a list of officers). You won't find these on SDGW.

Sorry to "muddy the waters" a little!

Dave.

Thanks to you both. It is kind of you to take the trouble.

Ron
