Rock Island M1903

Recommended Posts

1917 Rock Island Arsenal M1903 with a low high number (i.e., double treated). A good 1/25 inch of bullet showing at the muzzle and the bore is bright and nice. The H.S. is an excellent High Standard Mfg. Co. (H.S.) barrel, replaced at the San Antonio Arsenal. It also has a really nice finger groove "S" stock. All other parts seem original for the born date. Sling is dated "1918" and is not a repro.

Enjoy:

Here are some shots of the bayonet you need for it (being a 1917 model). Let me know if you find one, as they are extremely scarce.!

Cheers, S>S

A nice rifle you have there

If its abit dirty my only suggestion as its the miracle cleaning material for antiques is wipe it with a Cola soaked cloth...and about 2 minutes after type wiping it down with a watery cloth...then drying it...it might get rid of some of the dirt :D

Good eye! It is really fairly dirty but the bore was bright with pleanty of rifle left. I took it to the range yesterday and it shot really well @100. I'll try the cola suggestion when I clean it later. I wish it had an original barrel but maybe I will do some vintage rifle competitions with it. Thanks!
