Soldier Burial?

Hi all

My Great Grandfather John Hogan KIA on 24th June 1917. He is buried at Ferme Olivier Cemetery close to Ypres. The diary for his unit states he was buried the following day at position B 13.a. 60.35. Now is this a map reference, and if so is there any way I can locate where this was.

Cheers

Ant,

It is a map reference and by a quick comparison with a trench map and Google Maps, it looks like the map reference for Ferme Olivier Cemetery.

Hopefully someone with Linesman will be able to confirm, or otherwise.

Ant

Click on your CWGC link, then the cemetery name and then Google Maps.

Thank you John.

Would he have died close to this cemetery? It says on the diary that he was killed and buried the next day. I know Ferme Olivier was an Ambulance station for a while, but as John was already dead I am thinking maybe he died nearby to the cemetery?

Ant,

Until someone comes up with something more precise, here is the Poor Man's Linesman version:
