What was/is RLSA

Going through some family WW1 stuff and found a mention of "Derby Branch R.L.S.A. 1925". The ex soldier had been a gunner in the war. I have no idea if this relates to anything military, perhaps an ex-servicemen's association, any ideas?

Royal Life Saving Association (Today Royal Life Saving Society) I qualified as a Life Saving Swimming Instructor and a Life Guard under them back in the 1960s. I think they may still be Royal Life Saving Association in some Australian states.

Many thanks Cent, that makes sense! My man was secretary of the Derby Branch apparently. Photo taken while serving in Alexandria in 1919
