Thanks for the info. This would mean they have no known grave, right?

As you know they were in the 112th Battalion there is also Victor Henry Charlton Nr. 733593 maybe a relation. He was from Kings county also like LeRoy. The 112th Sailed from Halifax on the Olympic for England on July 23 1916.

In reading the previous posts, I did a search of the LAC on both these men to see if there was anything different in their attestation papers that differed from an uncle of mine who served in WW1. My uncle; Emile Saulnier, enlisted into the 112th Battalion in Meteghan, NS back in June of 1916. At the bottom of the second page of his Atestation papers it clearly shows; in type; not stamped, O.C. 112th Battalion; CEF under the officer's signature which was Lt Col Hadley B. Tremain. Where my uncle's paper differs from that of the previous two in this post, is at the top of page one. His was stamped with "105th Overseas Battalion" as opposed to 112th Bn on the Charlton men. My question is, my uncle apparently ended up in France, but I wonder if he stayed with the 112th or was reassigned to another CEF Battalion. The other thing I am interested in knowing is how did Walter Thomas Charleton end up with the RCR's after being attested into the 112th Bn like my uncle and is it possible the same happened with him? Also, just as a point of note, Emile did return home to Canada following the war. Thanks in advance.
